Romans 6:16 : ver 6, 12, 14, 17, 20; Ge 4:7; Ps 51:5; 119:133; Jn 8:34; Ro 5:21; 7:14, 23, 25; 8:2; 2Pe 2:19

And the LORD said to Moses, ‘I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.’ What shall we say then? ( A)Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who ( B)died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that ( C)as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus ( D)were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were ( E)buried with Him through baptism into death, that ( F)just as Christ was raised from the dead by ( G)the glory of the Father, ( H)even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. ( H) 6 For we know that our old self ( I) was crucified with him ( J) so that the body ruled by sin ( K) might be done away with, [ a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin ( L)— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. ( M) In this way also consider yourselves that you are dead to sin and that you are living to God in our Lord Yeshua The Messiah.Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

For when you were ( AA)slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 ( AB)What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For ( AC)the end of those things is death. 22 But now ( AD)having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit [ g]to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. 23 For ( AE)the wages of sin is death, but ( AF)the [ h]gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Freed from the Law

Making sense of life's struggles.

Romans 6:1 Grace justifies believers, making them free of the guilt of sin, blameless, so that they may have eternal life. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. ( N) 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, ( O) he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. ( P) 10 The death he died, he died to sin ( Q) once for all; ( R) but the life he lives, he lives to God. What then? ( AA)Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? ( AB)May it never be! 16 Do you not ( AC)know that when you go on presenting yourselves to someone as ( AD)slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of ( AE)sin [ h]leading to death, or of obedience [ i]leading to righteousness? 17 But ( AF)thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you obeyed from the heart that ( AG)pattern of teaching to which you were ( AH)given over, 18 and having been ( AI)freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 19 ( AJ)I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just ( AK)as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, [ j]leading to further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, [ k]leading to sanctification. What then [are we to conclude]? Shall we sin because we are not under Law, but under [God’s] grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that when you continually offer yourselves to someone to do his will, you are the slaves of the one whom you obey, either [slaves] of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness (right standing with God)? 17 But thank God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient with all your heart to the standard of teaching in which you were instructed and to which you were committed. 18 And having been set free from sin, you have become the slaves of righteousness [of conformity to God’s will and purpose]. 19 I am speaking in [familiar] human terms because of your natural limitations [your spiritual immaturity]. For just as you presented your bodily members as slaves to impurity and to [moral] lawlessness, leading to further lawlessness, so now offer your members [your abilities, your talents] as slaves to righteousness, leading to [ d]sanctification [that is, being set apart for God’s purpose].

In the same way you are to think of yourselves as dead, so far as sin is concerned, but living in fellowship with God through Christ Jesus. S)Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your ( T)members as [ d]instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but ( U)present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For ( V)sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God BQ)Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For ( BR)if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you ( BS)put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For ( BT)as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For ( BU)you did not receive the spirit of bondage again ( BV)to fear, but you received the ( BW)Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ( BX)“Abba, [ n] Father.” 16 ( BY)The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then ( BZ)heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, ( CA)if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. From Suffering to GloryDo you not know, brothers and sisters ( AS)—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives? 2 For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, b Do not let sin control the way you live; [ a] do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. 14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
