About this deal

Mia is now twenty-six years old. She's come far from her teen years and has proven to be a wonderful princess of Genovia. She has wonderful supportive friends, a job she loves, a loving but meddling family and Michael, her high school sweetheart. Then she finds out something about her father that could change her life forever. Girls will laugh and swoon with RANSOM MY HEART. Princess Mia Thermopolis, heroine of Meg Cabot's THE PRINCESS DIARIES, pens a fun, flirty debut novel that's spiced with the occasional mishap.

Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo (Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi in the Movies), Princess of Genovia is the protagonist of the series. She is the daughter of Helen Thermopolis, a painter, and Philippe Renaldo, the crown prince of Genovia. Mia is also the current Princess Regent of Genovia. Ransom My Heart is about Fair Finn, the youngest among seven siblings, the boyish among the brood. Finnula Crais was born into a really big family but her parents soon passed away. At least, however, she had an older brother who was old enough to raise the rest of the family. She is the tallest girl in her class, has feet like skis, mouse-brown/dishwater blonde hair that is triangular in shape and a chest line that is flatter than a surfboard. Mia lived most of her life in Greenwich Village and uses a talent for writing to chronicle her life in personal diaries. Ransom My Heart, written by the Princess of Genovia Mia Thermopolis. He’s a tall, handsome knight with a secret. She’s an adventurous beauty with more than a few secrets of her own. Finnula needs money for her sister’s dowry, and fast. Hugo Fitzstephen, returning home to England from the Crusades with saddlebags of jewels, has money, and lots of it. What could be simpler than to kidnap him and hold him for ransom? The book is a bunch of diary entries by Princess Mia. She is a grown-up now and ruling Genovia like a boss. She is now a mother of twins and married to Michael. From the outside looking in, she has a perfect life. But then the coronavirus starts hitting the news and she is about to face another challenging task; trying to keep the people of Genovia safe while raising her family.

After all we’ve been through, what could be more comforting for any lover of royal romance than snuggling up with a brand new installment of the diary of Mia Thermopolis, the princess who started it all?” —NetGalley The Princess Present – Every year, Princess Mia spends the holidays in Genovia with Grandmère. This year, she’s looking forward to the most perfect Christmas ever: her boyfriend, Michael, and her best friend, Lilly, are coming to Genovia, too. But even a princess’s plans can go awry.

What’s the Princess Diaries series about?

In the 2001 Disney Movie, Lilly, portrayed by Heather Matarazzo, is portrayed as intelligent, confident, and socially conscious. Her talk show is called "Shut Up and Listen". She is then a student at Berkeley. In The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Mia appoints Lilly as her royal secretary. The part of the press release about me asking your father's permission to marry you was true—well, partly true, anyway. I didn't ask permission—I knew you wouldn't like that, it's sexist. You're not your father's property. Aah well. Another Princess Diaries book. I honestly expected Forever Princess to be the last one, as it gave a nice closure to each and every character. But I wasn't going to complain over another Princess Diaries, one of my favourites growing up. It was supposed to be a pleasant, magical trip down memory lane..Which it wasn't. And adding to her regular list of woes, she suddenly finds out that she isn’t just plain old anonymous Mia Thermapolis. She is in fact *Her Royal Highness, Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldi, Crown Princess of Genovia*.

Racist (a dance celebrating cultural and racial diversity is described as "stupid", and a whole subplot is devoted to how racist Asian people supposedly are), sexist (sexual harrassment and groping are portrayed as things girls want), transphobic (one of my status updates had a charming quote illustrating this), and very, very heteronormative. Inevitably, things begin to heat up as Finn uses herself as bait to lure Hugo. Her hostage is all too happy to find himself the center of attention of such a determined huntress. Princess Charlotte, Duchess of Valentinois (1898–1977): the illegitimate daughter of Louis II, Prince of Monaco, later legitimized as his legal heiress; mother of Rainier III, Prince of Monaco. In this installment, which I firmly believe is a bridge to ease readers into From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess, Mia is twenty-six, working full-time and about to get married to Michael Moscovitz. But it's not really adult- adult, because this is probably the cleanest adult novel I've read in FOREVER. As in, no cursing and no sex. The Nostalgia—I loved Meg Cabot when I was younger. She was absolutely part of my foundation as a reader. I was really excited to revisit Mia and her friends and family for this reason. But I think I remembered the books wildly differently… The Princess Diaries, Volume VI: Princess in Training, March 2005 - a.k.a. - Six Appeal or Sixsational Young Adults' Choices for 2002" (PDF).
